When We Put God First

I was thinking of this again so I decided to search in at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“We must put God in the forefront of everything else in our lives. …

“When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities.  “We should put God ahead of everyone else in our lives” (President Ezra Taft Benson, “The Great Commandment—Love the Lord,” Ensign, May 1988).

Obedience Born of Faith in God

"Faith in the Lord can help us live the commandments with a willing heart and receive countless blessings." ("Obedience Born of Faith in God, Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Spencer W. Kimball, Chapter 13")

God prevail in your life?

Here is a quote that President Nelson said in the Sunday morning General Conference session on October 4, 2020.

"Are you willing to let God prevail in your life?" (President Russell M. Nelson, October 2020)

Fourth Floor, Last Door

God “rewards those who earnestly seek him,” so we need to keep knocking. Sisters, don’t give up. Seek God with all your heart.

...Again, no one would listen. The third floor was the same. And so was the fourth—that is, until they knocked on the last door of the fourth floor. When that door opened, a young girl smiled at them and asked them to wait while she spoke with her mother.

The story goes on. The young woman that answered the door was Harriet. Dieter F. Uchtdorf married Harriet years later. You can read more of the story.
